Another cam and rocker question

E303 and 1.7. MADD lift. Slight lope on idle. good power 3500-5700 RPM make sure you have the springs to back the combo up.

On the e303 cam card it says to use 1.6s, im not sure if you need to but just wanted to give the heads up.

This is a dumb question but why change the springs and what will happen if i dont? Also with the 1.7 rockers am i going to have clearance issues with the piston?

I ran mine with an E303 and 1.7 crane (cobra) RR's, with no problem. It close, but fine. In fact, i even had the head milled a bit on top of all that.

If you don't change the valve springs on the heads and run a cam with more than .500" lift your gonna get valve float. E303 and 1.7's your gonna be right around 220/220 @.050 .528/.528 110 LSA.

The only way your gonna know 100% if your clear is if you clay the heads and turn the motor.

is there any advantage to running 1.7s over 1.6 with the e 303 i know the lift will be more with the 1.7s. and heres one more dumb question how do you change the valve springs with out pulling the heads?

Here ya go: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/WMR-W84003/ I have to do it too. Thread it on, add 80-100 PSI of air, and make sure you dont drop it in the head. dont waste your money on the crappy stamped steel $9.99 valve spring compressors. Get a real one.
