This might be a question for J.R. So I took my car to the track and on my last pass launching off the transbrake (ran an 11.56 @ 117mph on motor) I noticed when I got back to the pits that reverse was gone, and of course the transbrake wasn't working. Also broke my starter but I won't go into that. So the next day I drove the car and it seemed fine in first, second, and third. Just no reverse. Later that night I noticed that I only had two forward gears. Not entirely sure which two though! I think just first and third. Anyway, I dropped the pan, pulled the valve body which is a PA full manual with transbrake, and I found that the struts I believe they are called had fallen out and were just sitting on top of it. Any idea why they would have fallen out? I'm hoping these were the cause of ALL the problems.

Well if the bands in the trans get too much play, they then allow the struts to slide and fall out. This is common on some older (mid 90's rams) trans, Sometimes you can make an adjustment and get the struts back in securely however, On a c4 I do not know for sure. Ive seen this, and its quite common with some vehicles which haven't had a service in well over 50k some times its adjustable sometimes its not, once again is a c4 different, I dint know well wait to hear from JR.

This is a Dynamic built c4 that's supposedly fresh. I'll have to figure out how to adjust the bands.

Okay guys I messed with it a little more this morning. I put back the intermediate band struts, and that band has a lot of slop in it, so I'm guessing its in need of adjustment. Then I went to put the reverse band struts back in and I realized that the band was broke. The little part that the strut presses against was snapped off. I have a picture of it and the strut that I will post.

Part on the right is what snapped off the band. The part is cheap to replace. I just have to find out how difficult it is to do.
