So most car shows require or atleast give points for having a fire extinguisher in the car. Does anyone in here have pics on how they have mounted their extinguisher? Does anyone know a site that specializes in mustang designs on extinguishers?

Most of the cars on here probably aren't fast enough to need a fire extinguisher, mine sure as hell isn't.. and I know it takes a lot more than a pi swap to go that fast.

I carried one in my old convertible. It was just a normal fire extinguisher; I kept it in the trunk. All the chrome nonsense stuff makes me laugh.

Oh, and my racecar had a halon system in it. That gave me a warm fuzzy feeling for that "just in case" scenario.

you don't need to have a fast car to have a fire extinguisher... My grandmother's chevy aveo could catch on fire lol

I used to keep one in my old crossfire vette. It wouldn't turn on unless I sprayed it with starting fluid. 1 of every 10 times it would backfire through the intake and catch fire. I always turned it off with a large towel but kept the extinguisher ready just in case.

If you get one, you do not want it any further then arms reach. I just put mine on the floor of the passenger side in back so that if I need it, I can grab it anytime....

mine as do most came with a mount.

Again you really want it in arms reach though......
^^He's right, mounting a fire extinguisher in the trunk is like keeping your gun in the attic. If you need it, you may not be able to get to it.

i always saw "ricers" with the chrome extinguisher mounted on the pillar and i always laughed and though it was retarted.

the other day i was scraping sound deadening from under the rear seats, i got distracted for a split seconds and a peice of insulation caught on fire behind the quarter plastic, i started to panic and had to run all the way to the house and bring out the hose. the fire got pretty big but did no damage.

also one day i was driving with the windows down and i must have passed through a thick cloud of smoke, i smelled burning and immediately pulled over and jumped out to inspect under the hood/in the trunk, even saw some smoke coming out of the cabin. turns out it wasnt me, was the could i passed, but i thought, SH*T what if my car ever did catch fire while i was out driving, it would burn to the ground before fire department got there.

so now im thinking of buying a small one just for safety and putting it somewhere behind my seat or under the rear seat delete. also, never know when you could save someone elses car with it.

they are under $30 and you do not want to have a day when you wished you had spent it. Cheap insurance as far as I am concerned......
