please dont do that on an American car. im not opposed to how it looks, but i cant imagine any american car pulling that off and having it look anywhere near good.

Really? Seriously?

I'll take "Leave a ferrous metal exposed to moisture and oxygen" for $100 Alex.

Seriously Paul, this is no joke.

Yeah, i know i can sand all the paint of whatever off the metal and leave it exposed BUT i know there is a faster way to get it done. I am wondering of there is a chemical that can make this happen. I want a speedy process.

Nice post sleepn_sn95, but what i want to do is take a HUGE piece of steel and make rust on it so it can go on a wall in my room.

What i want to make rusty is bigger than a car hood but would need the same process.

battery acid works too

Water is probably a little bit safer.. I know that Battery Acid when spilt upon a floor will clean that bish up ***** and span!

And X2 on the brake rotor rust.. I leave my car outside for a day without driving and its surface rusted already.
Even some uncoated metal parts kept in the shop at work will rust within a few days.

Strip it to bare metal, one part hydrogen peroxide, one part vinegar, one part salt.
