Anyone running FTR s197 brackets?

I have a probably dumb question. Do you have to run them with gt500 14" brakes or will the stock s197 gt calipers work? Im guessing no but I was under the impression that you could but now that Im reading about them I dont think theyd work.

you paid $$$ for the kit and want to bolt up your stock calipers? Even if it did work I am not sure what you have accomplished.

No I traded a grille for a set of stock s197 gt rotors, pads and calipers a while ago to have another set for my 07 but I see that the calipers can be adapted but my question is could I use the stock s197 gt rotors or do I need to use the 14 inch gt500 rotors? I only have 17 inch rims and I know you need to have a minimum of 18 inch rotors so thats why I ask.

Those brackets are meant for stock 05-10 GT/V6 calipers, to be used with 14" GT500 rotors and will be more than sufficient to stop your car!

Ok so you do have to use the gt500 calipers?

The 14" "Retrofit" kit is for S197 dual prison calipers with 14" gt500 rotors; our Brembo kit will allow the use of 4 piston Brembo calipers with 14" GT500 rotors. If you have any other questions either shoot me an email or give me a call tomorrow.

Ok cool thanks guys thats what I wanted to know. It looks like Ill need to save up for 18" wheels first. I looked at that adaptor a while ago when I was looking for another sn95 and when I read it I was under the impression that I could run the s197 gt calipers and rotors. I must've gotten too excited when I read that I missed that part lol. It looks like maybe a cobra brake kit for now.
