I was thinking about getting the SCT 4-Bank Chip. Is there any one on here with it and what are your thoughs about it? Is it worth buying, can you feel a difference between levels?

Are you talking about a mail order tune? most people buy the chips and have them tuned for there cars. Mail order wont do you anything

+1

Mail order tunes are usually just a baseline safe tune, nothing special.

As far as software, Diablosport Chipmaster Revolution and SCT...it's all the same shiat. Diablo has the same setup with multiple tunes etc.

No one is better than the other.

I have one but I don't switch between tunes. One tune is a street tune and one is the stock tune. Seems to work well though...

If you are planning big mods in the future i might look into a real tuner such as a PMS or tweecer or a few other systems out there. other than that chips are an outdated style of tuning. they are safe tunes as stated above and are hard to even find a shop that will deal with burning a chip anymore other than the company you get them from which are mail order tunes anyway(safe, not full potential). with a PMS you can tune to be safe and highest potential. i guess it all depends how far you wanna go. fast good and cheap you only get 2 outta the 3

I didn't know that the previous owner had installed a superchips chip, and when having my car tuned Tony found it and replaced it with the custom tuned chip.

Handheld tuners ie: PMS, AEM, Tweecer etc...are all hands on if YOU want to tune your car.

Any software SCT/Diablosport can pull the same info as any handheld. They can datalog pull timing, add fuel, change shiftpoints on Electronic transmissions etc. Depends if you want to slap $1000 for a handheld or if you don't feel safe doing it yourself and would rather have someone else do it.

Cost is a big player.  $1000 for a handheld and your good.  $650 for a tune and roughly a $100-$150 to re-tune depending on what you want done. So if you go back 2-3 times the handheld has already paid for itself.

Where is it that you live dude?? We have tuners out here like crazy..

there are plenty of shops that burn chips. The hand held tuners VS a shop burnt chip are all the same thing its just a different way to get the same result plus a tuner is more likely to know what they are doing, you have to have an idea of what your doing if your tuning a car yourself you can really screw it up

Cant get any easier than the moates stuff. I got their burner, J3 Service port chip and adapter and the PCMX software, all for under 300 dollars. With a decent knowledge of ladder logic and logic controllers, its not difficult to use the stuff and modify your own programs, buts its definatly not for the faint of heart.

Yea as i Rick Anderson, well Danny Biggs is the one that does all the tuning down there and at the time of me getting the pms i had originally went down there thinking i was going to get a chip from them and they said no, they didnt do them anymore now that they had the pms and flash type tuners.
