has anyone ever heard of a car stalling when the AC is on at idle?? crusing its fine, and blows ICE ASS cold. come to the stoplight, the car will cut off. any suggestions or commetns?

Yes, mine has done that occasionally. Bump your idle up a bit.

ok paul, your talkin to a dummy here man. how do i do that? just take it to someone and have them do it, or is this something that i can do??

Adjust the idle screw on your throttle body until the idling RPM on your car increases just a little bit. All you need is a screwdriver. :)

Yes. Precisely. You'll see a small screw with a spring on it.

Another possibility is that the computer is not kicking up the idle with the solenoid as it is supposed to, or that solenoid could be bad. Do these cars have an idle control solenoid Paul? You know I prefer my dinosaur carbs so I don't know. :crazy2:

Yep, they do. Good point OAM. That could be a possible culprit as well.


When it did it twice on my black car, I just upped the idle about 50 rpm and it took care of it. :) Mostly because I'm lazy and try to do as little work on my daily driver as possible.

I'm guilty of that myself!!! Did the same thing on my truck.
