Apple Carplay System Recommendtions???

Hey Guys I have a 96 Mustang GT and was wondering what Apple Carplay Unit can fit inside? Because I wanna enjoy my music.

You will need to switch the center dash/radio bezel out for a double din style. You’ll have to perform a bit of surgery to the dash itself to accommodate the larger radio. It’s not difficult, just take your time.

Hey man, it's 2024, they do make single din Carplay radios..... now I can't say how useful a tiny screen on a single din would be for CarPlay but they do exist.

That said, I would still 100% swap to a double din unit.

Metra does offer a Double Din install kit if you don't want to run a New Edge bezel and have empty button holes. http://www.metraonline.com/part/95-5703B

I haven’t shopped single DIN radios in a while and wasn’t aware of those existed.

I have one of those bezels in my 00 gt and it’s total garbage. It doesn’t sit right and the ac vents flop around. Maybe mine was made on a friday afternoon I don’t know. Just throwing that out there.

the new piece is flat on top where there is the slightest curve on the dash. It is one of those things that can bug you if you let it but it had never been a problem for me. There are all kinds of options for that space under the deck. I put some usb connectors for different things I needed and the control for my remote radar detector there.
