I started my swap today and when I pulled tne auto shiter. There was a cable that went to the dash was is it for. Do I need to remove it. I'm going 5 speed.

Sounds like the interlock whatever it's called cable. It's the one that make you have the brakes pushed in to move the shifter.
So no, I don't think you need it.

so i got to mess with it again this cable ties into something on my steering colum. im guessing is so you can only start the car while in park. how do i go about bypassing this if i have to i swap steering colums with my wrecked car. it does not have this .
