Ok, well I changed my transmission fluid and filter today. the old fluid actually looked really good, and it had a newer filter in it (not motorcraft that is) so its definatly been flushed, or at least changed before. Unfortunatly I noticed that it was grossly over filled. From what I hear its just as bad, if not worse, to have your tranny over filled than under filled. No idea how long its been that way, but its now been correctly filled and seems to be running better. Anything I should be worried about? Would the tranny being over filled account for its poor performance? Thanks.

no clue about your tranny, but to shed some light for ya....

My mods:
Full PI Swap with Ported heads.
H Pipe w Flows
UDP's
CAI
Diablosport Tuner

I am an auto as well, and my trans has been on it's "last legs" since I bought the thing two years ago. My Dyno: 244.43RWHP 281.88RWTQ.

The reason why you are going to have more HP than a stock 99-04 GT is because of the higher compression. Since you have an auto, figure (lets say) 23% max drivetrain loss which is 200RWHP, you being around 211 isn't too bad. The BIGGEST thing I noticed about getting the PI Swap done is getting the H Pipe put in. We already know that's the biggest bottleneck with our exhaust system. Now that you have the PI Swap you need to get a H Pipe put in. Besides sound, I noticed a difference.

And yes, you are going to hear people tell you a PI Swap gives you 40rwhp, or 60rwhp, or I've even heard 100rwhp. Everyone talks sh*t. Go off of what you know. If someone says your numbers are low, you may want to look into it and see the facts (See the differences between the dyno runs).

For example, when I got my dyno tune done, the temp was 66.6 deg with a Humidity of 15% (not sure of elevation, but that does matter as well)
If the humidity and temp were higher, I would have pulled crappier numbers obviously. Of course, the people making the higher dyno numbers have manual's (which have less of a drivetrain loss).

Check into those numbers, look at the facts.

I forgot who it was that was 17 and been working on cars since they were 7... but what kinda work did you do at age 7, 8, 9, 10??? Head work? Porting? Oil Changes? Just curious.

When an auto trans is overfull, it run's at a higher line pressure than what it should, this can lead to blown out seals, O-ring's, etc. Not mention the fluid can actually be whipped into a froth, just like oil. Then it's all aerated and can't do it's job properly, which is to lubricate, cool, and provide hydraulic pressure.

Anyway, if it did hurt anything, the damage is done, so there's not much to do about it now except go with it, lol.

Thanks, J.R. I'll keep beatin her until she goes on me. Then I can have some real fun.

Darkcrime: Yeah, I was looking at other forums around just to see what the consensus was, and I found that with Full exhaust (long tube headers, o/r mid pipe) and full intake (plenum, throttle body, CAI) and at least some sort of tuning that most people were seeing 240-250. I've done the math 100 times and always come up with the same thing. My numbers are where they should be untuned on a mostly stock engine. My times are slow, but I've got other issues dragging me down there (tranny, my driving, poor track quality, ect.). Thanks for the perspective, dude. Its good to hear.

Wish I was up that way, I'm from that area. Unfortunatly I'm stationed down in Oklahoma. :crying: Oh well. The track opened up in Feburary here, and its still snowing there, so I guess its a give and take.
