this has prolly been asked before but how much does a shop usually charge to do a PI head swap if i have all the required parts? im at college and dont have the necessary tools or knowledge on how to do the swap myself. Thanks.

usually the running rate out here is close to $1k. where are you located?

matt, i asked 1 of the guys at work how long it'd take to install pi heads/cams, he said 15 hrs of labor, i cant remember what the exact price was, but even w/ my 40% discount it was in the mid $600 range..i can double check for u on monday if u'd like me to, just let me know

$1200.00 was my quote. They needed: head studs, coolant, and something else useless. lol

I know alldata lists the time for a B skill level mechanic at 7.9 hours.

Most shops around here charge around 75$ an hour.
