back fire in 5th gear

ok was driving home from work today and was in 5th gear, I let off the gas to slow down, then gave it gas and it backfired. My timing is 10 BTDC FP is 40 with vac off, a/f is around 14.7 -15.0 at idle and is steady at WOT in the 13's. so far only happened in 5th. Any ideas would be great.

sounded like exhaust

I think it's just excess fuel in the hot exhaust pipe.

Mine does it all the time due to 24# injectors on a otherwise stock car.
