Hey guys, im looking to get more information on this kit (cross drilled/slotted/zinc rotors) and its apparent noise problem. Ive been searching many forums and have asked baer and other vendors about it and they say that it is only a pad issue and the kit should be used with hawk hps pads to eliminate any noise. Is this true? Can anyone with the kit please tell me what kind of noise i may expect with this kit if i get the cross drilled and slotted rotors. Would getting slotted only rotors negate the problem? I say this because i have heard someone say that the noise comes from the fact that it is a solid rotor and the gases cannot escape properly/efficiently and get caught in the drilled holes. Please let me know any information and thanks!

by reading your reply im guessing you plan on getting the rear brake kit, if its a 13" kit, i wouldnt bother, id put my money somewhere else.
IMO,as the front brakes do just about all the job...

Now if you get the kit, dont get drilled rotors as they have the tendency to crack
get slotted rotors..

Up grading brakes is 100% unnecssary if its going to be a dd car, GT's come with v6 brakes, even oe cobra brakes (think 03/4) are designed for a supercharged application and still hold spectacular. Alot of people who race (drag) still have stock brake systems with much more then a stock car. If you want it to look cool or say you have it, go for it but as far as needed that massive amount of braking power, I wouldnt count on it

i need to do the rears and thought i the kit would be great for looks, plus it is not that too much for the kit either, i just do not want any excessive noises coming from it as others have said. do you guys think it is a pad issue like baer says?
