balancer

which is a good balancer to go with for a 331? i know i need a 28oz one but i dont know which brands are good, the block is a stock block bored forged pistons and rods a DSS cast crank, and im gonna use afr185 heads

If you want assured quality any SFI approved balancer will do.

a buddy of mine bought a professional products cost like 150 bucks i think and it was actually a very nice piece and diddent cost 300-400 bucks.....

this is the one i have.

it has a replacable weight and both early 289 and later 302 lower pulley bolt paterns on it.

it is one size fits all basicly.

I use either romac or racemaster. The summit and Pro Prod ones are cheaply made. Don't skimp on the balancer, I've seen it take out many an engine single handedly. The two I mentioned do not need a spacer and are specific for 5.0's. You can spend a lot more money, but these are the ones I put on my race engines and customer's stuff.

They go for about ~$400 but you'll never find a better balancer.

I like ATI...but they are expensive! I've had a romac and liked it, but as it got older, it started to rust and it was more difficult to read the marks...really any sfi approved balancer will do the trick
