This is my first post so beware!!!! I recently aquired a 95 GTS and have no idea what to do for performance mods on the car. I have been told by a few people to get rid of the car but I like the fact it is different. It is white has only 95,000 miles on it and the interier is Leather? I have done the research and it is a GTS but this one has leather, spoiler, and fog lights so it has been confusing. I want to get more power out of it(supercharger) and lower it a little and tweak the suspention and redo the leather seats they are worn pretty bad. If anyone has a GTS or a 95/5.0 and want to help I just do not want to spend mony on bad part and have to redo it later

The first thing to do is get an education on cars, engines, and performance. Don't worry about jumping right into a project that will take a lot of money and you don't even know what's going on. Take the time to read up some tech articles in magazines and at many many websites. Learn how the engine works to make power and what has an affect on it. Learn about suspensions and supercharging. Get a background knowledge on these things so that you can better decide what direction you want to go in with your car. It will also help you to know what is within your budget. :thumb:

yea, but as far as power it seems like heads/cam/intake is the way to go n/a

Or just supercharger.

Gears made a huge difference with my car, and i went for the conservative 3:73:1 , ideal for what i wanted. :)

welcome. You can start shopping at summitracing.com and stangsuspension.com and find some goodies to start with. I think you should start with some suspension work from stangsuspension.

There is PLENTY of mods out there for 94-95s. Catbacks exhausts from 94-97 and halfway through 98 are all the same. Cold air intakes are the same deal man. Summitracing has what you need. Go to a bookstore and pick up a couple issues of 5.0 Mustangs and Superfords or Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords....start reading. there are THOUSANDS of retailers out there with parts for your car.

There isn't a handheld tuner that will work for our cars unfortunately, but you can find a tuner in your town gt tune your motor using a chip or you can get a tweecer or anderson pms (which if you wanted to learn some stuff) are both piggyback type tuners. OUr cars are obd1 not obd2 like later cars which means we can't comunicate to our computer threw our diagnostics port.

there is such an aftermarket for the 5.0 is unbelievable. as far as a cold air kit i would get one on ebay. they are just as good as any other one you can buy for a 1/3 of the cost. next get some gears, lowering springs, a full exhaust with an x pipe of course. it basically comes down to how much money you have to spend. i would recommend figuring out what purpose you want out of the car and then build off of that. look on the websites on a daily basis. this site is a good one. also check out moddedmustangs.com, stangnet.com and corral.net just to name a few.

way off topic but mystical that oiled bubble butt is killing me lmao :ass3:

Yes, but along with those mods, depending on specific selections, then you may need bigger injectors too, and then you need the headers for it to exhale through, and a better exhaust, and then gearing for the specific cam, and a throttlebody to match.

My point is you need to know how these things work together to make power, what all needs to be modified at once, what will get you where you want to go for the money you have to spend, what works best for the kind of driving you do, and the rest of the drivetrain you have. There is no "I'll buy this and that and I'll have a fast car." There is a reason that engines are "engineered". Without knowing how an engine makes power you are shooting in the dark with your wallet, which is probably ok if you've got the time and the money.

To work on a car you have to know about cars is all I am saying. I personally don't care to go crashing blindly into something and I don't recommend it for others. There's nothing wrong with "knowing what you are doing," you just have to do some research and learning to know what that is.
