alright heres the deal when my car is on and idling, the battery light is on. when i start to drive OR just rev up the rpms, the light turns off. depending on the rpm, it will flicker or just be very dull.

recently, i tucked the fusebox in the fender and relocated the battery to the trunk. the ground for the battery is connected to the rear pass side seatbelt bolt. the seatbelts are not in the car. i sanded down to bare metal as well. the positive cable is 2g and it is also tight and secure. the connection to the fuse box is secure as well.

why could the battery light be on at idle and flickering at low rpms? but not when im above 2500-3000?

havent figured it out yet myself, was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what to check.

oh and the battery has been fully charged a couple days ago and still does it.

Re: battery light on/flickering..?

Maybe its your ALT. What else electrical do you have installed in the car?

was it doing it before you made the electrical mods?

Re: battery light on/flickering..?

ill have the alt checked out, otherwise HIDs are the only other electrical thing ive done, and those are also plugged in correctly.

no it wasnt doing this until after i moved the fusebox, and i dont have UDPs.

i think it might have been something i did in the proccess of relocating the fusebox but i am yet to find what it is.
probably something i did due to my own error, ill figure it out eventually.

just read this somewhere

"the alternator pulley can slip if the big nut [about 24mm ] is'nt tight, "

i will also check and make sure thats tight when i have the alt checked.

also, this couldnt have anything to do with needing a new belt could it? think i might need one soon.

Have yer alt checked brfore too long.....
My light was doing that when the regulator failed and the alt was giving 19+ volts to the electrical system.......

Re: battery light on/flickering..?

hey guys ive been slacking on this...

the light still flickers, but i havent gotten my alt checked. is it easy to do yourself? can someone explain how? or could i just go to autozone or soemthing? im not very good with electrical stuff.

if i get in the car, starts fine, drive around, turn off car. then ill start it again and it starts fine.

BUT say i turn the car off and have it on acc., with say the radio on, or just the dome light on, even if its just for like a minute or so, when i try to start it, it will hesitate and sound like the batterys running out of juice.

then ill drive it around, turn it off, restart and everythings fine, fires right up w/o hesitation.

Re: battery light on/flickering..?

sounds like the battery has a dead cell. but the alt could still be bad.
take them both into auto zone or which ever place is free and have them tested.

listen to this sht,

the night before last i was about 25-30 miles from home, and i was alone. i follwed a bunch of cars to a race spot, saw a couple decent races, mostly all turbo hondas.

now i left my car running the enitre night, until i was there and decided to give it a rest.

i had a feeling the car wasnt going to start when i had to leave.

sure enough everyone starts running bc the cops and i go to start my car, wont even turn over. im like F*CK, there was one kid that looked super confused bc his friends left him behind but then they came and picked him up. so now im the only one still there, but thankfully, no cops show up, they ran for nothing.....

so i got out, rolled it down a small incline, gained some speed and then popped the clutch, and i was on my way home..

it sucked. but at least its a standard car and i didnt need to call for assistance/ a jump!

The battery should have been full charged in the ride over there and the amount of time you had it running.
I've seen a bad alt. kill a good batt. and vice versa.
Did you have the battery tested while you were there too?
Have you put a volt meter on the battery to see what the alt is putting out with the engine running, and voltage drain with the engine off?
