BBK c.a.i. vs powerpipe.

I am running a bbk c.a.i and am getting ready to add a Vortech s/c. Would there be any big benefit to running a powerpipe instead of the bbk c.a.i?

Biggest benefit with using a power pipe will be the ease of installation. The power pipe has been designed to connect to the sc head unit which will eliminate any guess work or re-engineering. Plus the power pipe will have the bung for the bypass valve hose already on the inlet side for re-circulation. Im not saying you couldn't make it work, but if both inside pipe diameters were the same, neither would have a performance advantage over the other.

Thanks. I am going to use the VMP Blow-through 75MM MAF housing and SCT BA5000 MAF sensor. Will I have to make my own pipe to fit this in or does someone make a pipe that is already made for this setup?

Are you piecing together a sc kit? As far as discharge pipes to the throttle body, a few companies make them. Myself personally, I would make sure that I got an aluminum discharge pipe, weld on a slot style maf flange and use the slot style without the blow through housing. Im assuming your not going to use a stock bpv since you are going to blow through, that means you will need a flange welded on the same pipe for a blow off valve also. You can also buy kits that come with an assortment of bends and straight tubing with couplers to join them to make your own plumbing from the tb to the discharge pipe

the Anderson power pipe also has the option to move the maf into the fender to clean things up.

The N/A power pipe is not the same as the super charger one..

I bought a vortech V2 s-trim head unit and have everything that I need for the install. The VMP housing is a slot style. Why would you not use the VMP blow through housing? I just bought it from VMP because everybody that I was talking to said that this was the way to go.

Yes slot style the way to go. .

If you already have the blow thru maf housing, I would go ahead and use it. The only down side is your gonna have to shorten your discharge tube to fit it in, the use 2 additional silicone couplers.
