So the belt is squeaking on my 95 Gt. It's a new Gates belt and only squeaks when it's cold out and goes away when warm. I am almost 100% sure this is due to the fact that the belt expands a little when warm. I am running the stock belt length of I think 105 inches. I think it GATES Part # K061045 to be exact. Any way. I am going to throw on a new tensioner pulley as the belt rides out to the outside edge no matter how many times I re center it and at 187k miles I am sure it needs replaced and may put a washer behind it if need as that has worked on past vehicles. All the pulleys are in great shape and have all been checked. I need to double check the tensioner and see if there is a wear indicator like most cars to know when to change it.

Bottom line, with UPR smog delete pulley and UPR under drive pulleys, what part number belt will get me about a 1/2 inch longer ? I think mine is techincally 105.51 right now.and I am guessing I need a 106" belt? ugh. Anyone?

I should add that I am almost 100% sure its the belt because when it's cold I can mist just a hair of wd40 or pb blaster on the belt ribs and the sqeaking is gone instantly until the next day when it gets cold again. Now the belt did get hit with some antifreeze and stuff while doing some work but don't think it was ever saturated. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Yeah the delete pulley was on it when I bought it. Figured it was easier to keep it on lol. Thought of removing it to clean up the bay a little. But that's almost a lost cause on my 187k motor haha. But at least I cleaned the bay up some other ways.

Yea I know the feeling . My stock motor wiped out at around 140k but that was hard nitrous run miles. When you do a engine swap that's when the bay really gets sexy looking :)

take a string and run it the length of the belt route. then measure the string and you'll know exactly what size belt you need to pick up.

Yeah I can't wait to finish school and build a motor. Sadly as good as the car looks the rear area as well as front shock towers have lots of rust from previous owner driving it in the damn snow up north. I will eventually have to address all that. There is a small hole in the trunk where I can see the ground :( Some people.. I would have at least under coated the hell out of her if I HAD to drive it in the snow!

I may just have to do the string idea. Just don't have any handy jsut yet. Just forS&G's I ordered all new Gates tensioner pulley, idler pulley and stock length belt. I THINK I may have ordered a slightly shorter Cobra belt by accident as Gates has two different belts, one for D code vin and one for T. But I can't tell for sure since the part number is gone on the belt lol.
