Tried searching and can’t find what I’m looking for.
94 cobra with Vortech V3. Bought new and installed per instructions and parts needed per AFM. Belt length is not correct using stock pulley or suppplied pulley in the kit. Tried various belt routings and still to long. Please post your belt size before I go buy a bunch of belts. With or without smog and I pitched a delete pulley thinking I had to have it.

Get yourself a piece of string and route it around your pullies like you would a belt. Measure it then take off a few inches for tension and buy a belt or two. Usually some auto parts stores will let you try them on in the parking lot too.

I’ve done that before. Was hoping a member has solved this already. Unfortunately the car is months from being road worthy

Well damn I would go out and see if I could find a model number on my V3 and snap a pic or two but my GI crap flared up again and I am typing from the hospital probably till tomorrow. If you took pics of what you have I might be able to give some help if I can see what is wrong.

Appreciate it. Hope your hospital stay isn’t a long one. I dread that place

I’m going to go grab a 100” belt and try that both ways on the wp pulley

Here is a short belt by passing the smog but I don’t think it’s tight enough and barely got it on

the belt with the writing on the outside is for the blower only unless you got a different belt. The 2nd pic is how I have mine ran IIRC but it is much tighter. I do have a larger alternator but it is not that much bigger. I normally run the belt all the way around except for the black pulley on the top and then apply tension on the tensioner and slide it under that pulley for a tight fit. I hope to get out tomorrow and can get a pic
