I have heard that gatorback belts are really nice.. ohh also i am about 1000 miles from 100K should i change the belt just because that reason??

i got a poly cog bet from advance... it was like 45 or 50 bucks but it was pretty nice... who sells "gatorbacks" ?

Also, could the problem be the tentioner not holding it ??? or it might be weak??? I still have that problem after changing my belt

put some wd40 on some of ur pulleys but make sure not to get any on the belt or the surface where the belt rides.

Def. My tentioner chirps when I first start up, those things are a def. weak link.

There was actually a Ford TSB for the tensioner, they get weak over time and the arm on them "bends" a little bit which of course affects how the belt sits on the pulley. I put a Gatorback belt on my car, definitely worth the money.

I had to replace the idler pulley on the tensioner and the one in the timing cover, I had the dreaded squeal too- pretty easy job. Did the Gatorback at the same time.

So do you think that is the prblem then? b/c other than the tentioner what else will cause the slackness other than the belt?

Yeah the newer tensioners are stronger then what we have. Mine are still in decent shape though surprisingly.
