black plug under console?

Like the title says, does anyone know what the small black plug is under the console? 94 convertible. I have the fog and top switches plugged in and the ebrake switch hooked up.... Top still doesnt work but not super worried about that right now

Update: I went to a salvage yard today to pick up some parts and found out the plug is for cars with an automatic. Must be for the illumination or something.

Oh, good to know. Can you still please post a pic for reference, so others will know what it looks like?

pretty sure there is a harness that gets plugged in up towards the dash for maybe the cig lighter and the lighting for the ashtray.

You can see it peeking out from under the carpet. Turns out it's supposed to be closer to the shifter
