I had mine done when they painted my entire car. I've seen where guys have masked off the valance part like with newspapers, let me see if I can find it.

For my taillights I just used trim paint. There were eurogay tail lights on it when I bought it so I found a set of white tails at the salvage yard. Brought em home, taped off the lights, gave them a light sanding with 800grit? then clean em of with brake kleen before I painted them. I think I did 3 coats of trim paint on them and they've help up well for over a year.

I have never been big on painting the bezels. It just makes them stick out too bad INO.

The valance is easy to paint. 20 mins to mask it and the a few quick coats of gloss black an it makes a big different.

If you're going to paint your lower valence use Duplicolor's Trim paint, its a satin black, no gloss and it matches almost perfectly with the stock color the factory uses to paint it. Since you have a 98, the bezels come off of the tails, all you have to do is scuff the paint with 800 grit or higher, paint it the color you want and your choice to use clear or not....personally I would take them to a body shop and have them painted, since you can take them off yourself and just bring them there it will only cost you like 50 bones to have them paint both of the bezels.
