If you can post a picture of the plugs. It'll help us diagnose things a bit further.

Autolite is a very good plug. Seems to me that your car is running very rich and the plugs is not your problem. Make sure that the tune in the car good. If the tune is making the car run rich, than it will black out any plug.

Autolite Copper plugs are excellent, especially with boost.

The black is definitley being too rich..are they stock heat range or do you have a little cooler plugs?

I have two mustangs one is a 1990 5.0 the other is a 1994 both GT convertables
the 90 has TFS heads and 42 lb injectors And running an R-trim w/18lbs boost and the plugs are black.
the 94 has Edelbrock heads and 30 lbs injectors and is running an S-trim 8 psi boost, but I aim having starting problems :BangHead:
KWClutch would you know if the make those NGK TR6 plugs for a 5.0 liter because I went to 4 places to find out they don't have them.
Auto zone, Discount, Bennet auto, & Adavance.... :angry7: Nothing.

There is no reason to spend extra money on NGK TR6 plugs when there are plenty of 8 and 9 second cars running a basic Autolite copper plug.

The plugs are not the problem, the tune is.

You cant change your rich condition by swapping plugs or injectors. You need to get it tuned or retuned.

the "r-trim" is the father of the "t-trim". a h/c/i car with a "r-trim" being spun hard enough is going to need a lot more fuel then what 42s can provide at stock fuel pressure. either that base fp is jacked or there is a fmu on the car which is causing the black plugs.
