So I'm getting kind of bored with the 'Stang. I recently detailed it but that's only once in a while anyway where I go all out on it. I have money but I need to save it all for school since it's just expensive. What are some things you do with the car that keep yourself interested. I really want to mod something but I just need something. Like a small project you know. The only thing I have are 01 calipers to put on this summer. Otherwise there's nothing else. And I really want gears and/or my headers in. I just don't know if it's worth it to drop the hammer on one of them this summer.

I went through a stage for mine where i was low on money. I ended up converting all my lighting to LEDs. Gauge cluster, map lights, corner lights, HVAC controls, reverse lights... etc.
You won't spend more than $30 and i think its one of the best cheap mods i've done to my car.

I agree with saving for gears, but if you can't wait the LED upgrade is fun. My brother and I just installed a bunch of small crap laying around his garage (hood shock kit, billet pedels, Mach 1 grill delete, and tail light sequentures) on his '03 GT...

quickstang_1994, the Saleen looks great. One of my dream Mustangs is a '96 S281 in white with black top and interior. You're a lucky man. Take care of it!

Or considering taking out a custom fab project. A real do it yourself instead of buy install. Make your own cluster or gauge pod since the oem ones are shit. Clean up wiring, make everything look neat and new. idk what your engine bay looks like but i've found there is always something that could be cleaned up.

Make custom covers for wiring under the hood, like all the harnesses up on the firewall on the passenger side. I've been turning some ideas in my head about that for a long time

If you do get an off-road pipe, remove you mufflers and go straight piped. Then rev your car up next to people and watch them almost shit themselves.

That should keep you entertained.

Do you have an aftermarket shifter yet? Not to expensive especially if bought used and its a nice easy project and makes driving the car sooooo much better

Already done. I did that last year when I was bored. Haha.

That's what I am leaning towards now.

I remember one of the guys on hear did a custom cluster. That's actually a good idea.

@ OP do you race your car at all? are there any tracks be it road racing/auto x events or drag racing available to you?

I have. I wanted to do it this summer. I just got an internship so I won't really have much time for that. Nearest area to race a car will be 2+ hours away. But it is on my list of things to do soon.

Lol. I have pipes to remove my cats. I just decided not to put because my gf hates that my car is already loud.

I have an auto. It was a great idea when I bought it because the car was a DD and it was through a lot of traffic, but I wish I had a manual. I might actually have had more fun with it.
