There are adapter plates for the 4v swap... it's just a terrible way to go. Reichard Racing makes them.

Like J.R. and redneck stated, the intake is the biggest hurdle on the navi engine. I'm doing the swap now and the ONLY production intake that will fit n/a is the aussie intake, nothing else. The sullivan intake they make for the navi based motor does not really make power unless you rev it to the moon or move some serious air in and out. The GT500 blower and intake will work but you have to run the GT500 heads to make it work. Also, the most optimal head to run on a navi would be the 03-04 cobra heads, although that is also pricey. Expect to pay a lil over a grand just to cam a 4v, and that is parts only.

I think I'll be building the intake myself now, since there are not any aftermarket ones for a decent price.I figure, if I have the resources to, why not use them?. Plus that'll save me money for other things, since most of the cost will be my time...

Oh contrare mone frare, there is a production 4v 5.4 intake and it'll fit a reasonable hood, though not a factory hood. It's reasonably priced and it's pretty streetable. You'll still want a 6500rpm+ redline and 4.10's in the rear but oooooh man talk about the foundation for a bodacious rod

MMR 5.4 Street/Strip Intake
