Quick question as I have never had the pleasure of bleeding brakes on an ABS car..

I'm installing my Roush-Alcon Brake upgrade kit, which comes with new braided hoses, calipers, etc.

When I take the stock GT calipers off as well as the stock steel lines, I know I'll be inducing air into the system. So basically my question is:

Will I need to bleed the ABS as well or is that a seperate system?

as long as you dont pull the lines from the abs unit i dont think you'll have to mess with it.

I'll have to look at the abs unit and see where it attaches. because the calipers are being replaced with the Alcon's... I know that abs modulates the brakes so it doesn't lock the tires up, I don't know if it's directly connected to the caliper though. I need to get it on stands before I see if the abs unit is connected directly to the caliper.

The ABS unit is on the passenger side right in front of the engine.... No soft lines even come close to the unit.

so the abs isn't controlling the physical brakes themselves then? Controlled from the hydroboost system or master cylinder?

just thought I'd post to confirm, yes, there is no reason to touch the ABS on a brake kit upgrade. just bleed the system as normal!

yep, I got it done last weekend, bled the crap outta them, now I scare myself with the braking power. Roush brakes are NUTS.
