Hey fellas i'm looking to install a multitude of James Bond style switches and gadgets, starting off with a brake light cut-off switch. Would you guys have any idea on how to go about tackling this project?

Future Plans(maybe)

Smoke Screen
Tire Pop Drop
Licence Plate Flip

Let me know if you have any more cool gadget ideas!

Can easily be done by tapping into the brake light switch on your brake pedal (sends the signal to the lights themself) but why would you ever do that?

Disappearing act, planning to smuggle Mexicans across the border, those border agents can be a little touchy.

do you have inspections in NM?

As he said its just a switch with two wires ran to the wires going to the brake switch, above the brake pedal but if you do have inspections I am not sure you will pass with all this. A brake light cut off sounds like a plan-to-fail kind of thing that I only pray you do not ever forget you have on... Something like that will leave you being the first person EVER responsible for a rear-end accident, up front.....

Nope no inspections here, one of the many bonuses of living in the wild west. You are right though, maybe this should stay a day-dream and not reality.

Just for knowledge the ebrake doesn't turn on the brake lights when engaged.....I hid from a cop I thought was following me one time by ducking down a dark street and using my ebrake to pull into an alley

Buddy of mine did it on his wrangler for his remote start.....he just uses his head and doesn't leave it in gear.....I disabled my mustang one too so I don't have to press the clutch to start it

I have no idea why someone would want it on the street, I would be very interested why the OP is asking about it.

I have heard of race car guys putting delay boxes in their brake lights to cause there to be a split second brake light delay. That way the guy behind you has to brake harder giving you a little advantage out of the corner, but that's speculative. Shenanigans!!

If one if those "gadgets" ever failed and caused an accident then you could not only face criminal charges but civil too. Save your money for real mods.

Your an idiot to even thinking about doing this. Your not james bond you jackass. Thankfully if your stupid enough to come up with this idea it probabally also means you dont have enough brain cells to pull it off. Someone needs to delete this idiotic thread.

That's uncalled for .... You should delete your post and move on......

OP, the flip plate isn't hard they make kits online you just have too look (have one pm I'll see if I can find the brand, I don't have it on my vehicle)

Smoke screen would probably involve a chemical process that I would want to be held liable for lol

Tire pop drop would have to come down to the devices you want drop .... One big roll out thing? Or multiple small tire popping objects ..... As long as you don't use them on the road legality won't be an issue, if you do plan to use it on the road then it starts to cross the boundary of violating forum rules

If one were to fail. ( And from what I've read that chance is high) they would be in a world of hurt.

Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you? This thread was meant more for entertainment than anything else. I got drunk, watched skyfall, and thought what the hell, why not?

Must be misplaced anger...

No this was more of a drunken fantasy than anything else, but...

I do have the wrecked 98' Vert that nobody wants to buy, so I was thinking about just making it my gadget car. I mean come on fellas, we've ALL dreamed of doing this at some point.

I would never even think of using any of these on the road, but we do like to film stuff on our property out here in New Mexico, and a mini car chase has been discussed.
