Hey guys, im new to this forum, and mustangs and modding in general. This is my second car and I would like to modify this one to be a fast, fun, all around street car. Something I could use for autocross, quarter mile, and as a daily driver! I would like to post my future mods and it would be great if some people could tell me if these parts would fit together, and about how much power I could make, if it would make a pretty comfortible but firm daily driver. Basically i want to know if this all would work together and what can I expect? So basically I already have a tri ax sts and borla stinger catback on my 2000 gt. Next I'm getting a magnaflow x pipe, and ford racing 3.73 gears with bama tuner. Following that I'd like a 2.6 kenne bell with 60# injectors and the cobra fuel system (please mention anything I'd need that Isn't included in the kit). I'm going to modify the stock hood to fit the kb under the hood scoop as well. Since it's a 2.6 on stock internals, I'm going to lower the boost to 8 pounds. From there I'd like to get a 5.0 block and stroke it 5.3 liters with the mmr 1000 hp internal kit and a 4 valve dohc heads. A build 6 speed transmission would be nice. I'm going to use a carbon fiber driveshaft and 31 spline differential and axles. As for the suspension H&R lowering springs, MM cc plates, Steeda aluminum control arms, subframe connectors, steeda x2 bumpsteer and x2 ball joints and tokico adjustable struts/ shocks. I'll also obviously need a new clutch, and I'm upgrading to cobra r front brake kit. I think that covers everything. I'm sorry this is such a long post, I just want to know what some good brands would be, and how stuff would work together. I'm a little worried if the 2.6 kennebell would work with the 5.3 stroker. Also how would the suspension be. Any input would be great as I'm new to the modding world! Thanks guys!

First off, welcome to the forum!
And second, i hope you have some deep pockets because yours plans are gonna add up real quick.
A 5.0 block bored to a 5.3 with a 2.6 KB and a 6spd tranny sounds nice, but thats gonna set you back quite a couple of dollars...

Thanks Ferocious! I feel like the best order to do this in is to first get the x pipe and gears, then get the kenne bell and run it at a safe 8 psi until I build the suspension and get my brakes. Then get the 5.0, forged internals, transmission, flywheel, clutch, the driveshaft, differential, and axles all at once. And along the way if, I'll take care of any fuel and cooling needs. At low boost it should be safe until everything is built enough. Then on the streets I'll run 14 psi, and at the track 20 or more psi.

Welcome to the forums!. man i hope you really have some deep pockets, that sounds like a super expensive build. question is tho. why dont you get the 5.0 now and build that, then worry about the supercharger? besides n/a is funner than fi imo xD

Thank you, I'm still on the ropes about a 5.0 stroked to a 5.3. I may be staying with a 4.6 and swapping 4 valve dohc heads on it, I guess that might make my engine sound sorta like the 03/04 cobras, but then again I'm not entirely sure. My options for the engine are like this, I could leave it as a 4.6 2v, 4.6 4 valve dohc, stroking the 4.6 to a 5.0 4 valve dohc, or getting a new 5.0 block and stroking it to a 5.3 4 valve dohc. I'm not sure exactly what I want, but I know I don't want to change mods I've already made. So for that I feel like the 5.3 stroker might be out. As for supercharging first, I just want to get it done and out of the way and have fun with it. I'll be running it at a low 8 pounds of boost so the stock engine and rear end can handle it, and as I need cooling or fuel upgrades I'll get them,. It'll be a progressive build over the years since it's going to be so expensive. When I have cash laying around I'll be pickin up parts and wrenches=)

Thanks Rob! I'll get some up when I get a chance. My plans are sort of changed, I think I'm just going to keep the engine as a 4.6, or maybe stroke it to a 5.0. I feel like swapping to a 5.0 block and stroking that to a 5.3 will be a lot of work. So I believe I'll stay at a 4.6 2 valve, and upgrade heads and cams. Keep it a bit simpler and save a little money while still making plenty of power!
