Burping coolant system

Hello, I have recently finished the tork tech build, and got all the gauges in. It's ready to go, but I am having a big problem burping the coolant system.

With the cap on or off, coolant shoots out of the reservoir like a geyser as soon as the temps reach ~160 degrees.

Any tips for this job?

The best and quickest way to do it is. Pop the coolant temp sensor out of the intake. Top off the reservoir tank and cap it. Fill through the intake (where you removed the sensor) until it starts to come out. Unscrew the reservoir cap and you will see the coolant in the intake drop a little. Keep doing this until you cannot fill it anymore through the intake. Put the sensor back in and run the car. Usually I wait until the fan comes on then shut the car down. Wait for it to cool then pop the sensor back out and top off if needed.

If you fill it through just the reservoir you will get air and the car will overheat

That's a great idea!

I ended up using the method you suggested except I do not have a sensor ontop of my intake. I filled it through the hose and held my hand over the upper radiator outlet. Then quickly reattached everything. Your method should be stickied. We do not have the handy dandy cross over fill port that the Cobra's have, and the sensor is much like this.

This and drilled a 1/8" inch hole in my thermostat. Seems to work just fine now.

How do you not have temp sensors on your intake? You should have 2 of them, one per side

No room for temp sensors up top. :)

Another way to do it is just to take off the radiator cap and fill it and have it running, the system will suck more coolant in and keep filling it that way until you no longer see bubbles.

This is how I do it.

And I love the TT set up... there better be more pics and numbers soon!
