I would like to put a cam in my 95 gt but dont know what to put in. I read a lot about the steeda 19 and trickflow stage 1. i know with stock heads its almost a waste but i mainly would like it for the sound as i dont race much. I was wanting to install a cam, roller rockers and gt-40 intake. What else would you guys suggest that i also add? Injectors, fuel pump, tune? Thanks everyone, i will be doing mainly cruises and shows and maybe once a year trip to race at the strip, and just love the sound of a cam in a 5.0

I have heard thath a cam install a tune is a must. Im in the same boat, the 19 cam seems to be pretty decent although its a small cam. I have always had good luck with Lunati cams in my 5ohs. If you are going for sound you may want to skip on the 19 cams, as its pretty mild sounding. The 18 cam sounds sick but you would need some major tuning. Could also try the "E" cam, I believe they were stock in the 93 94 95 cobras, If it works on those computers it should work on yours.

1BAD95..

Seriously just keep the stock cam in. You want a big sounding cam with lots of duration but then you leave a light with a car with no bite.

You will have more power and better gas mileage with a stock cam. If you are going to tear down a motor to put a cam in it...your going to want to pull the heads anyways. Look into some GT40 or GT40P heads. Good amount of power gain over the stock E7 heads. You can throw a cam in there with them and see a huge difference. You would be amazed how an extra 30-35 HP feels.

Bottom line, no heads....no cam.

Depends on the cam. Each PCM reacts differently...the Steeda #19 is a cam designed to work well with the 94/95 PCM.

Far from it. The 1993-1995 SVT Cobra cam is a little baby dick cam. It is smaller than the GT cam, just has more duration.

I have an E cam and the computer certainly does'nt like it.
If i was doing the job again i think i would be looking at something more ecu friendly.

yeah its sounding like it would be better to just wait on the cam then. maybe just go with gt-40 intake, maybe a set of 1.7rr and just work on some stuff to make it look better under the hood. save up some money to go with a nice set of afr's or maybe skip the heads a go with a vortech

no way it's worth doing a cam with the stock heads. for all the headaches an aftermarket cam can cause i'd seriously just keep the stock cam and enjoy the good driveability.

yeah sounds like maybe just go for a gt-40 intake and the 1.7's for now and work on dressin up under the hood. then get a cobra brake kit

Not a whole lot to gain like most says. My shit gets horrible mileage and has bad driveability (lugs around alot) with what I suppose is the stock cam regardless of what I do, so for me there would be little to loose by swapping in another cam. lol.

yeah if your car is still pretty much stock, just put some 1.7 RR's on and call it a day. I did that with my stock head and cam 95'
and still ran great and was able to tell a little bit of difference with the RR's. Picked up a little more on the track also.
