Cam questions

Will installing PI cams in my car drop my boost level at all just like aftermarket cams would? Also, ive decided not to degree them simply due to the money id have to spend just for a few hp. Think its crazy to pick up 30rwhp from installing them in my non pi heads and getting a retune?

the better the flow of the engine/exhaust, the less Boost you should see.

You should drop 1-2 psi with the cams....thats what I thought at least.

30 rwhp doesnt seem out of the question to me on a blown car.

Yeah Ive always thought that too, just wasn't sure when swapping a stock PI cam. I always read about guys losing a couple psi with aftermarket cams, just not with stock PI cams.

i would say about 1 PSI maybe...

Thats an awesome setup, you might lose a bit of psi but you can make it up later. if your adding power and running lower boost your doing good. :thumb: but if your losing more power from the loss of psi, than your gaining from the new install, then thats bad :wall:

Oh yeah definately man. I'm hoping I lose a pound or two and pick up power. That would be a great trade-off! Thanks for the props too!

I really dont think I'll lose that much psi though to contribute to that great of a power loss.

psi is just a measure of restriction... if you loose 1 point your going to be making more power b/c that 1 point is actually making it into the motor instead of stacking in the intake.
