Okay so its time for me to buy a entry level DSLR camera. Im tired of the subpar pics my point and shoot camera takes. It takes decent pics but I want better. I was looking around on CL and found a couple but wasnt sure. Never shopped for higher end cameras so I dunno. Should I not even bother trying to fnid a nice used one? Any guidance is GREATLY appreciated!! :D

Im thinking about picking up that Olympus. I can get it for 200. Reading the reviews on Amazon makes it out to be a good camera. Would love to find someone thats used one. I had a old 35mm Olympus and it worked great and took decent pics.

Cameralabs rates the Olympus pretty high. Above a D40 so thats nice. Cant beat the price either. Hoping its still around tomorrow.

i personally am a canon fan. they tend to be the cheapest because they are the market leader. the specs on that olympus look decent enough though

I have a Fujifilm Finepix s9000 and it's the easiest DSLR i've used. Most of my shots are taken on auto, because i'm too lazy to mess with iso & shutter.
And plus photoshop will take care of everything else for me.

With that said, my next camera is definitely going to be a Nikon. Many of my friends have had good luck with them.

Nikon or Canon all day long, wouldn't mess with any other DSLR. You could probably take pretty good pictures with the Olympus no doubt, but you can find anything and then some for Canon and Nikon bodies. I love my Canon T1i. You could probably find one of them pretty cheap.

So I picked up the Olympus last night. Its in great shape. I played around with it on Auto for about an hour. I had to order the usb cable for it online because no store locally carries the damn thing. Of course I dont own a card reader either and the cheapest I found one was $25. Got the cable for $6 shipped. :D

As for lenses, this came with a 14-42mm. Do I need to bother to go with a different one? I plan on taking pics of the family, around the house, and of course cars. Dont think Ill be taking any long distance shots or anything.
