camshaft synchronzer.. question

Ok, my car just recently went into 4th gear and doesnt want to come out.. could it be a bad camshaft synchronizer or a bent shift fork? (it was grinding going into 4th a little) brand new clutch and flywheel is in it.. its a 93 5.0 engine with a 94 t5 in it..

Did you use a 94/95 bellhousing if not that's ur problem my 94 did that and when it happened my tranny wad toast

For one, you don't have a camshaft synchronizer technically. For two, you are referring to the shift synchro's. Two completely different parts. If the car's stuck in gear, it leads me to believe there's a problem with the clutch and/or cable setup.

yep i used that bell housing, and i this got this car so i'm not quite familiar with it like a brand new world to me working on it..

You're probably gonna need to pull the trans out to see what's up. Stuck in 4th could indicate bad bearing problems with the input shaft.

Pull the trans, make sure you have the right bellhousing.

Make sure it's got fluid in it. The synchro's may be bad, take it somewhere to get it rebuilt, unless you want to take on the transmission yourself.

I got mine rebuilt and beefed up for around $500.

when you put it back together make sure to put in ford pilot and throwout bearings. also a good time to check out the clutch fork.

I wish I would have paid attention to that when i was doing the motor, now I'm having to pull the trans again because the clutch fork went bad.
