Okay, you all have these 94-95 cars if your reading this (hopefully). I have found what I would call a questionable buy, im 19 (ignorant) and I need some expert advice from an experienced veteran with these cars.

Okay so I found a 1994 Mustang Cobra with 167xxx on the clock for 3,800 (ill talk him down to 3500 or less). Really high miles, believe me I know. Looks to be mostly stock which I like, but it has quite a few miles on those parts.

I plan on freshening up the motor, rebulding the trans, lowering it, and rebuilding the rear ends' posi within the next few years. BUT what I want to know is, with that kind of miles what type of things will start to crap out on me. Things I may not expect that is, IE electrical, maintenance parts breaking, stuff like that. I like the fact that it's a cobra and in my price range, but will I be able to drive the car (sunday driver) and add my performance goodies at the same time. Or is this car going to be just sitting in my garage?

Thanks ahead of time!

it actualy looks to be in pretty good shape. the engine bay, from what i can see, looks clean, and there isnt even a tear on the drivers seat. my drivers is falling aparts and has almost half the miles. if i were you, id buy it. especialy since your planning on rebuilding most of it anyways. a cobra for that cheap is awsome.

Just do a simple tune up plugs, fuel filter, air filter, clean maf and throttle body, new cap and rotor, and maybe plug wires. All of that can be done for around $150.

yeah a full tune up is good,as for suspension wornout stuff such as ball joints,Lca's bushings, maybe change the fuel fuel filter for sure.

I mean what do you expect from a car that is 14 years old.

Wow, that's lame. 4900 (asking price, no one gets asking price from me) will buy me a 1994 GT with 84xxx and a quite a few mods done to it.

Huh? Im going to drive up there, look at it, drive it, look at it again, talk him down on the price, then maybe there will be a money transaction. This is assuming that I have sold my 68 project (lowered the price on 68 to pick up this car before it's gone) No way in hell im buying it over the internet with out even seeing it.

I just wouldn't do that, cause if it was a lemon...... :knuppel2:

I was in MMA, I would put a hurtin on that boy.

That's exactly what I was wondering, if the 302 was going to be throwing a head gasket soon or something else terrible OR be a good little runner while im saving up money. I know they are a great motor, I just wanted some re-assurance from the elders. :hammer:

O yeah, +1 on the Burton picture, MetallicA FTMFW!!
