yes, you can deactivate PATS with a SCT

although im not sure if it is a user adjustable option or if the Tuner (VMPTuning, etc.) is the one who has to do it

not sure about a Diablosport but i would assume i can do it too

CCRM failure but its not part of PATS.

Anyway, I guess if you let the car sit long enough PATS will reset itself, but I'm not sure and can't verify that from experience. How exactly did you set PATS off? Why does it keep getting activated? It can't really me more than a handful of issues.

It can be turned off but its done in the tune, not in the "user controls." I would imagine that if you set PATS off and it wont reset, than its too late to flash the ECM anyway. Again, that's speculation as well.

I'm assuming you already have a handheld? Generally it will be cheaper to have the dealer re-sync past than it would be to buy a tuner, and having a tune uploaded to it.

the PATS just sometimes wears off after so many years, dont know why. i cant think of a reason, just kinda stops working.

PATS only keeps the car from running (engine). the accessories should still work, which means he should be able to plug in a Handheld tuner and get power to it so that he can load the tune

PATS doesn't just "wear off" something has to actually fail, or set it off.

My sentiment towards not being able to flash a car with pats off was weather or not the ECM will accept a tune while in protection mode. If PATS has been triggered, what makes you think the computer while accept a flash/tune, while in "lock down"? Again, I'm not saying that i know, I've never had an issue with PATS.

i know someone on another forums has used a tuner to turn off PATS once they switched ECU's and the PATS in the key didnt not match the code in the ECU (didnt expect it to). obviously the car wouldnt start, and it fixed the problem. so it must be able to accept new tunes
