I spent the past week in Fiji and just got back on Monday. While there I marveled at the vehicles I saw. It quickly became apparent that bad taste has no boundaries. I have never seen such liberal use of scoops, stickers and ... drum roll please... hood ornaments! Awesome, simply awesome. Nice looking cars were very rare. Roads there were horrible, including the "main road" around the island. I rented a little Madza 2500 turbo diesel 4x4 and half the time I was driving in the middle of the road because of millions of potholes. Driving around the island was fun though because the cops are nonexistent and it's kill or be killed. Oh and if you go be sure to mind the cows, horses, dogs, pigs and chickens that frequent the roads. Anyway here are the pics:
An old school Toyota 4dr:
Taxi's are some of the worst offenders. Soar like an eagle:
Those rim's are siiiick and the scoop is good for 15 at the wheels:
Toyota and Ford pickups with light bars and brush guards were common place, here's a Ford:
Saweeeet:
Stickers! Stickers! Stickers! and those rims are classy! Toyota Celica:
Not sure what type of rh drive Ford this is:
Not sure what type of rh drive Chrysler this is. Owner wanted $35g's Fiji dollars or about $25g's at the current exchange rate:
Siiiiiick:
Ford Falcon XR6 4.0l inline 6:
Holden Commodore SV6 3.6l v6:
Fijian's can fill the back of pickups better than Mexicans (although I never got a picture of that):
Last but not least a tricked out Toyota Hilux (4runner):
