Catted or not catted

I had a non catted for a while and liked the loudness for the first couple of years. Eventually I got tired of it, it was hard not to be noticed. Everytime a cop pulled behind me (no homo) I got nervous thinking my car would get impounded if I got pulled over and inspected. When the old one broke I decided to spend more on the catted, plus this way I don't have to spend extra cash trying to get a smog place to pass me.

BBK O/R H-Pipe with Flowmasters and Turn-downs.

Its loud but it sounds like a Mustang is supposed. Honestly, I wouldn't call it TOO loud and I've never really gotten complaints, but its defiently louder than with pipes but the tone sounds so great that its no problem.

The thing is with exhaust is its such a personal prefrence on how loud you want it. If getting checked isn't a problem then its really jus tup to you.

Does it still sound agressive with the cats

My problem is I replaced my cat back with a borla side exhaust. So I didn't get a chance to really see what made a bigger difference, the flowmasters or the mid pipe. Although I did turn on the car before I put the side exhaust on, meaning I left the x-pipe open and it was ridiculously loud

Gutted stock H with flowmaster 40 catback here. It got noticeably louder, deeper but drones even worse than it did before and emits a little bit of fumes where before it didn't. I'm kinda torn about it because now I can't enjoy my music as much anymore, even though sometimes now I'd rather just listen to my car because it sounds so schweet. It's a love hate relationship but i'm slowly getting used to it. Or maybe this is just a sign that I need to upgrade my full range speakers then dynamat the car.

Good choice. My car came with no cats, and it was cool being loud at first, but after awhile the cool factor wore off. And you have to always worry about cops, and I have emissions here.

Actually this month I am putting in a catted X-pipe and longtubes, and can't wait.

I agree on the X-Pipes. I currently have an uncatted x pipe. When I had to put on the stocker for emissions, I could tell the performance decrease. I hear the X pipes flow better, and it makes sense that they do so. I am going for the catted x pipes now, just a preference that I want cats, but yeah X pipes all the way.

I chose to go without cats because I love the sound the Prochamber gives you. If they sold the Prochamber with cats then I would have bought that.

No cats will be louder. Power difference is negligible or non-existant. I've actually seen back-to-back dynos where the mildly modified 5.0 lost torque without cats. Power was the same.

I'm not suprised, less back pressure.
