I have a 96 gt with the center console with the ashtray.. I dont need an ash tray id rather have cup holders.. Is there anyway possible to swap them and put cup holders where the ash tray is? Or am i going to try to find a matching console?

You could techincally do it, but there's work to be done... And I'm lazy so i just bought a matching center console with cup holders... Problem solved

I think the 98s had cup holders, so you'd have to find one from a 98 if you wanted it to match. The 99-04 will fit but not match

If u sell it to him, and ship it make sure u find a box that u can form to it so it's not way oversized, I paid about 14 bucks to have mine shipped to me through regular mail... Just a thought, to help both parties

They are pretty awesome to have, but it also allows for build up of excess junk, kinda like mine that has about 6 bucks worth of change in one of the cup holders lol

I put my spare change in the ash tray and use it to pay off the change when i buy burritos at taco bell.

Id like to have cupholders too but i keep my ashtray because it forces me to keep the interior clean and clutter free. No loose change or spilled drinks. No cupholders=no cups so no spilled drinks plus only bottled water gets in my car anyway.

funny thing is when i bought my 94, it had a 98 console already in it with cupholders. being new to the sn95 scene, i didnt understand why my car had cupholders and other ones around the same year had the ashtray. then one day i was in the junkyard and figured it all out. ended up buying that console from the yard just to have a spare and also i got it for $20 cuz i know the chick up front ;-)

I use my ashtray as a switch bank, my cig lighter is actually part of my starter kill.

You can get the cup holders that snap into your ash try hole. Late model, modern muscle, ebay has them. Not real sure if I like the way it looks though. I plan on putting my nitrous switchs in the ash tray compartment.
