So, my chamois is falling apart. I, obviously, want to get a new one but I don't want the shit ones that the parts stores sell. I want to get a real chamois like I have. Any ideas on where to even get one? I did a little searching online and either came up with shitty ones or like 5.5"x5.5". I'd like one more like 15"x15"ish.

Not sure how I couldn't find that myself but that's what I'm loooking for. Thanks, Chris; if anyone else wants to chime in here please do so since we don't have a chamois thread.

Hey no problem man. I have bought from Auto Geek a lot so I knew they'd have em. I haven't had a real Chamois in YEARS. Have one of those Absorber fake ones for like 15 years now and its actually held up great.

EDIT- BTW They are A LOT cheaper over on Amazon.

I also haven't used a real chamois in years.
The synethetic ones work real good once they're broke in. Meaning, out of the bag they don't absorb very well at all but as you get a couple of uses they finially begin to work. I've been using the same one for 2-3 years and it's holding up great.

Question: Do you allow the chamois to dry between uses or do you stuff it into a sealed container so it stays wet/ damp?
I dry mine.

Chamois and absorbers can create micro marring. I'd get a couple waffle weave towels if you like your paint!

I actually have one of those but it should be replaced as well. I'll get the micro waffle and also a chamois to have on hand. Thanks, fellas.

Honestly, I think the best method to dry the car is with a 220mph leaf blower. Use your general microfibers to get what little standing water is left and you're good to go.

I use my air compressor usually, but for my truck I use a waffle weave. I actually owe my old man a chamois which is the reasoning for this thread.
