My 03 IRS has a brace that goes from under the front of the diff and is attached via the lower control arm bolts. Cant see one in the picture he has unless for some reason he removed it

Here ya go! First picture is if the brace and the second is just to show how it bolts to the underside of the diff and the back side of the front LCA mount. Don't quote me but I'm pretty certain that brace is the easiest visual difference besides the spline count

Half shafts are obviously bigger in diameter also.

As long as it's either an 01 or 03-04 I'm good. I can buy that front brace cheap and the 01's have 31 spline as well. Just not as stout.

Biggest difference for me is if it's an 01 he's gonna have to come down a bit cause then I'll have to use the 3:55's I bought instead of reselling them. If it's truly an 03-04 and still has 3:55's then I can recoup some of my cash by selling my gears.

I'll update tonight or tomorrow after he sends me pics of the rear end tags. iirc the tags show gears.

You should be able to get it cheaper if it's not a true 03/04 as well. Even if it is it's not "complete" so I'd use that to your advantage when haggling.

3L55 means 3:55 gear with s locker. Guy who has it had a buddy that had this in his Mach.

Long story Mach guy owed this guy money and his Mach was getting repoed so this guy took the irs to try and recoup what his buddy owed him.

I'm goin to get it this weekend..........

Unfortunately there's no point in bolting it up yet as I still have to purchase and install a new fuel system. Otherwise I'd have it in by Sunday.

Grabbing my buddies truck to go get it in the morning and will just drop it off in the garage. So now I'll need to get my fuel system and all the new bushings for this quickly so I can get the back half of my car back together at least.
