I had to change mine... It took me and my friend removing the hood and getting ontop of the engine to get it out, both grabbing one side of a pair of vice grips with a screw screwed into it. Pulled the mesh out and it left the sleeve, took another hour of picking at it to get that out.

I replaced my grommet and valve today also. Wasnt a problem getting it out, but it creates a vacuum leak now. Guess thats why the old grommet had sealer on it. The leak was annoying me, so i unplugged the hose and put my nipple cap on it. When the boost came up, pop goes the weasel lol. Cap flew off and hit my windshield, then when i let out of the gas, i got a loud lean backfire. Bet the cars around me where freaking out.
