Is there any way to install a clutch-driven fan on a 94 GT? Just curious cause the fan went out a while ago and been needing to fix it, but a new stock fan is about 140-200 around these parts. I have a clutch fan sitting around, but am not quite sure if it'll work and don't really want to tear it apart without knowing if it's even possible.

is that just the motor or the fan assy. you should be able to buy just the motor for a lot less than that.

Yeah I'm more than sure that the motor has burned out, but it's been really hard just locating the motor. I have tried pulling the motor apart, but it's clipped in there pretty good to the shroud.

It could probably be done w/ the correct fasteners & such but if the clutch has any age on it, it would need to be replaced anyway. A thermo controlled (w/ spring on front) clutch isn't real cheap. Your fuel mileage will suffer with it as well.

i think i got the motor from o'riellys auto but az or advance or summit should be able to also. i pulled the shroud and all out of the car. the fan is clipped to the motor on the inside of the shroud. when you try to pull codes the fan will kick on low then high for a couple secs. each.. that should tell you if they are working or if you have another prob.

before you blame the motor....there is a problem with our cars 9495 with the plug to the fan and the wiring goin bad.....ford should be able to tell you all about it......or someone else that knows more about it.....id be running a jumper wire from battery to it and it to ground to verify that if i was you...or just test the socket and see if your geting any juice...you can jump the test connector by engine harness bullhead with key on engine off and the fan should come on and the fuel pump should cycle....

try some diagnosis first...

as far as a mechanical fan...sure....the 91-93 tbirds use the same water pump that has the threads on it and a mechanical fan...go to the junk yard but i dont think youll want to do that....it will be loud and rob some power...the motors are availible like stated previously from an auto parts store...

good luck
