what the f**k is a clutch?

It's a special disk that you are supposed to burn and tear up in between shifts, and cause smoke to come out of the Transmission.
But you wouldn't know that because you are just a bottom dwelling "2-pedaller"..
HAHA..
spitfite760, did you replace the clutch cable or any other components other than the Clutch disk/diaphram and flywheel?

Why didn't you replace your pressure plate too? What brand clutch disc diaphram did you install? (stock replacement?)You should have replaced the throwout bearing because your old throwout bearing could start making noise. This is tough to diagnose without being able to step on your clutch petal.I'd consider a aftermarket quadrant, firewall adjuster, and OEM clutch cable so,you can properly adjust your clutch.

X2.. Did you (or whoever installed the clutch) inspect any of the other components?
Right before my Clutch Cable snapped on me, my clutch pedal felt squishy and low, then WHAM, all the way to the floor..
Replacing the Cable (stock ford, as already mentioned), as well as the ThrowOut Bearing (less than $20)..
If the Diaphram and Disc are installed correctly, I would guess the Cable is to blame..

do you still have the stock adjuster on the pedal? After the clutch was replaced the ratchet mechanism should have been reset.

put your car on a level surface.
put it in 1st gear.
turn the car off.
release the clutch.
reach down with your hands and pull TOWARD you with all your might on your clutch pedal.
slowly depress it with your foot.
Repeat the process in nutral (sp? im drunk. lol)
this is how you adjust your clutch with teh stock clutch quadrant.

try this and let us know if it helps. it may be a 5 minute, $0.00, process that hasnt been done yet.
