Clutch problems

yeah, under 4 hours for complete install. on the floor. 2 or 3 hours in the air on a lift. I took my time today though, took me all day, and I fixed some other issues that were buggin too.

Also, found out there was no washer behind the pivot ball on the bell housing, so I put one in. it was supposed to have a lock washer, according to the Ford manual. it has one now. Makes a hell of a difference as to where the clutch engages. THe splines on the transmission looked pretty worn, so me and my machinist dad took all the burrs off them and smoothed them so the clutch disk slides nice and easy. The last issue was exhaust stuff, cross threaded exhaust studs and missing bolts on the bell housing.

dang, little things like that just get under my skin... reason #1 i dont want to do a motor swap. lol.

ya, and I have a coolant leak on the back of the passenger cylinder head, I'm gonna take care of that when I get back, hopefully with a new cam to add as well. might as well measure Piston to valve clearance while im at it.

well, got the car all together, and we will see if it works on the way to denver today!!!

dang, i just would do everything from scratch if i was you (if it doesnt last on the way down)

id buy a clutch kit/flywheel combo from the same manufacturererer and a FRPP TOB and a FRPP HD clutch fork (thats what i got) and id double check the routing on your clutch cable to ensure its going the right way.

i put alot of extra junk in my drivetrain i didnt need, but im pleased with my constant peace of mind. lol.

It works, just needs broken in. the car has a stock flywheel, refurbished by standard flywheels inc. I think it works now!!!
