I have a few questions..

I have a 2000 Gt with the 5spd.. It has 94,000 miles on it.

I want to replace the clutch before it goes bad, and i figure its not a bad upgrade anyways..
Heres my predicament, when i bought the car, i bought it used with 85,000. I dont know if the clutch has ever been replaced.. I have a feeling it has, and this is why...
Every time i take it for and oil change/ alignment etc the mechanic always asks if I have an aftermarket clutch, because "the pedal is so heavy". I have never had it slip or anything... what do y'all think, spend $600 on a clutch upgrade (plus labor), or spend that on other mods..?
Sorry for wording this like a 5 year old... ahhaha

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Sounds to me like it's been replaced already anyways. The alignment guys always said that about my car with it's Spec 1 clutch in it.. though it was most definitely a heavy clutch. It's fairly obvious when a clutch is going bad, so you shouldn't ever be stranded by it unless you 5k dump it or something stupid like that.

I'd go with the brake kit or MM panhard bar. It's recommend not to run aftermarket UCA's unless you're drag racing, it just creates axle bind. You'd be better off just getting new bushings for the UCA's and getting the MM LCA's if that's what you want. Panhard bar FTW though.

I do not drag race, I mainly want to replace the lca's because the bushings are shot and squeak like no tomorrow, might aswell upgrade while im down there. Ive been looking at the SVE and the upr lcas, do you know if there any good? Im just looking for an improvement over stock..

I've heard bad stuff about UPR, so I wouldn't personally go with their products, and as far as SVE i'd say it's a toss up. My neighbor has a foxbody with SVE lowers and has had no complaints, but i'm not sure they are actually any better than stockers. If it were me i'd go with MM, but i'm kind of an MM fanboy haha. Don't take it from me though, i'd do some more research.. the suspension tech section on Corral is a great place to look. I think some guys on here also have had some experience with those brands if they decide to chime in.

Go to maximum motorsports and buy their clutch kit. comes with a cable, quadrant and firewall adjuster. I promise it will feel 100000x's better after the install. If it still feels a little funny, it could be that if and when the clutch was replaced, they diddent clean and re-lube the pivot ball and input shaft bearing retainer causing a little binding and xtra friction on the throw out bearing. 9 times out of 10 the cable is worn and binding internally causing the xtra effort. Only buy oem ford cable and the maximum parts are top notch. The upr is decent stuff for the money but their cables are crap, only oem here. Been there done that far too many times.
