Ok so my front brake calipers are old...the driver side one is locked up and wore through a whole pad. I need to replace the calipers, probably the rotors too...im thinking I might as well upgrade the whole system to cobra brakes since the cost of stock calipers, rotors, pads is probably about the same.

Will a 13 inch rotor/ cobra/mach 1 combo fit behind my 16 inch wheels or will I need something else to make them fit?

I thought I saw someone shave something on the brake to make them fit

to my knowledge you cannot fit a full size 16 inch over 13" brakes. i think the 'grinding down' your thinking of is for draglites on the front.
besides, even if you could grind it down to fit, why would you do that to brand new calipers? i say save for 17s with the brakes.

I think your thinking of the mod to grind down the stub axle to fit later PBR calipers to 94-95 cars, i did a fair bit of research on mine before fitting a cobra setup, [i have some pbr's as well] and using Ford 17" rims, its still pretty close.
Everyone said a minimum of 17" rim with either caliper.

I agree, I buy my Cobra front brake kit recently and it take 17 inch. wheels.

You can find original 94-95 wheels for cheap, they will do the job :

I buy the Ford kit, but you can save money and buy some kit on Ebay :

The M-2300-Q fit 94-95 and the M-2300-Q fit 96-04 Mustang.

The New Edge cars have a MUCH nicer caliper...

94-98 only have single piston calipers while the 99-04 Mustangs have nice twin piston calipers

i believe the rotor is similar size but not the same part, but i would have to check for part numbers through my dads dealer to see if there is any difference in the rotor.

IMO those standard brakes that we found on a 94-98 are not enough powerfull even for a stock GT.

The 04 has the same rotor as your car the caliper and bracket are different. You WILL have to grind the "ears" down to make the
caliper fit really easy fix, otherwise yeah, they bolt up.You can use you stock hoses as well.I just did this to my wife's 98 with 02 parts.Take a
look here at this guy's site ALL your questions will be answered,it's got EVEARYTHING covered.
