my engine bay just got a makeover and just need final touches. everything is black and red. the only thing that throws the colors off is the blue in the cobra plaque on the intake manifold.

i was wondering if these can be taken out without being damaged and where could i take it to have it painted, black backround, silver snake, red shadows(something like that)

either that, or eventually i want to just remove the intake and have it painted. id rather someone else do it, bc im not a great painter

id like the whole intake to be black, and if you know the cobra intake has the vertical grooves ontop, those to be red, and the cobra plaque painted as said above.

when i go home later, ill add a few pics to this post of what i want it to look like.

so again my questions are how can i remove the plaque without damaging it and or where can i take the whole intake to have it painted?

any input always appreciated thanks

If you are going to pay someone to paint then you might as well spend a few more bucks and get it powdercoated

mine was on a 94 which didn't even come off. Its no big deal, really small area to mask off. Just take a roll of tape and a x-acto knife and mask it off next time you are watching tv.

The 4v plaques are glued on, not screwed lol. It's flexible enough that you won't hurt it getting it off. Just use a razor blade or a sharp flathead to get under it. I got a new one from eBay -- Jeg's actually. It is blue though. Previously I just sprayed silver over the old one. I agree though, black with silver on the raised edges would be sweet!

Old:

I might suggest popping it off and hitting it with red. Then silver, and carefully wet sand it until the raised edges are red. Could look pretty BA.

I appologize, for some reason, I thought he had a 5.0L Cobra.

That's what I figured, considering you have a 4v yourself I thought you probably knew your stuff haha.
