I bought a motor that has 0 deck and is a 306 and The guy I bought it from said with 58cc heads the compression was 10:1 to 1. If I am correct my compression with 61cc heads(TW's) will be 9:5 to 1. Would I see any gain in hp with 9:5 to 1 or will it be minimal?

Thanks Garrett

9:1 to 9.5:1 Would be mininmal. If any you'll see it up top.

9:1 vs 10:1 you would notice a difference...

I really didn't think I would I just wanted to see what other people thought. I guess if I wanted to bump the compression I would jsut get a samller cc head. I guess this really rules out boost but i can live with a 100 shot.

The 10:1 compression will mean higher octane gas (not 87). It also comes into play when selecting a camshaft. You can go with more duration with 10:1 than 9:1.
