Just looking to get some opinions before i get too serious about buying them. Another forum has a guy selling a used set for $200 which I thought was a good price. I know LT's are "the way to go", but I'm only looking at these because a) I know I'll NEVER do LT's on this car, and b) these shorties seem to be a good price and at least I'll get better sound and a *bit* of a gain.
Basically I want to know about how they fit, if they'll match right up to my current exhaust (all stock-located aftermarket stuff with stock manifolds) ... things like that. Feel free to chime in please! :TY: :thumb:
I attached the pic from his ad :

THey should bolt up to all the compnonet's you have now, and BBK usually mnakes pretty good stuff.

Yes they will fit using any stock size mid pipe. They do open the sound up around the upper RPM range. From what Ive read they gain around 8rwhp and 10rwtq. They just fit right in the only thing you have to do before you start the motor up for the first time is tie strap the one A/C line up and away from the header. It just barely touches it and I melted mine on startup and you talk about a mess when the line blew. All you have to do is strap it to the other A/C line running about 3 inches above it and your perfectly fine.

I love them because they give you the best of both worlds, better flow then a reg. shorty and no need to have to purchase another mid section. They also look good under the hood.

Good Luck

Did you install yours yourself? I'm just wondering if it's really necessary to disconnect motor mounts and steering brackets and so on ... or if you can wiggle 'em in there without jacking the motor up and stuff ... I also may not have the time/tools to install 'em myself, so I'm wondering what a reasonable shop would charge...

A reasonable shop will charge at least 500 bucks. I would pull the head's off to put them on myself

LOL Ouch ... if that's the case, then screw it.

It never hurt's to ask around, but you know, you can't even see the bolt's from the top, and you can't see most of them from the bottom :hammer: It totally sucks.

Shorties are just as hard as Longtubes. Fortuatnallyt with shorties you can pull the head off. I am actually dropping my motor out of the bottom of the car, puting on my ported PIs, Custom grinds, and Longtubes. Then i will slide it back up and be all set.

Not to mention that the nuts and studs are probably all super rusted and crap which are a biach to get off and with the tight quarters it would be hard to get those all broke and free.
