Converter fluid

Is there any special fluid I have to use for my torque converter before installing or do I just use tranny fluid? About how many quarts does it take?

Trans fluid...Your converter is probably a bit smaller so the trans and converter will probably need somewhere around 8-9 quarts I believe.

You need to pour a quart or two into the converter before installing it so it doesnt get run dry

My tranny guy recommends a pint of lube guard red, in your new trans. but to each their own.

My catalytic converter ran dry and burnt up the muffler bearings. They suck to replace.

haha, I thought the same thing...but saw blownstangers name so I knew he was asking about his new setup.

haha sorry, TORQUE CONVERTER fluid. I already got everything taken care of. I just wont get a chance to test it out anytime really soon, im back at school and go on spring break in a week. Hopefully in 2-3 weeks I can take it out for a spin!
